It was supposed to be the last train to stay in the race for salvation, instead it turned out to be the de profundis for Hellas Verona held in Serie A, now, only by mathematics. It ended 3-0 to Sampdoria at the Bentegodi, ended in glory for the Dorians supported by almost 2,000 supporters out of the 18,930 spectators present. Already at the end of the first half Montella’s boys had dropped the trio against a Verona, badly put on the field, who could do nothing, despite their good will, against the unleashed Quagliarella and companions. In contrast, the Gialloblù fans, for the umpteenth time, showed extraordinary attachment to their team despite the dismal championship.
