Marcel Hirscher takes back the giant slalom scepter and wins the Specialty Cup with one race to spare, thanks to victory in the second giant slalom in Kranjska Gora with a time of 2’12″58. In second place is Alexis Pinturault, just 12 hundredths behind, who breaks the winning streak made up of four consecutive successes. Third is Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen, up from fifth place in the first split, and still 1″59 off the winner. Hirscher thus rises to 721 points in the discipline and becomes uncatchable even for Pinturault, who rises to 610. in the overall, Hirscher is at 1525 points, now basically uncatchable even if not yet arithmetically the holder of the fifth consecutive overall Cup.
For Italy in today’s race was Florian Eisath’s 17th place, once again the best of the Azzurri, followed by Max Blardone, 18th, Riccardo Tonetti, 19th, Roberto Nani 20th and Manfred Moelgg 22nd. They had gone out in the first the other azzurri at the start, starting with Luca De Aliprandini.
In the discipline ranking, the best is Eisath with 10th place and 199 points, but among the 25 for the St. Moritz Finals, there are also Nani 11/o, Tonetti 17/o, Blardone 18/o and Moelgg 21/o.
