La Liga 2025-2026: Espanyol-Real Madrid, the likely lineups.

This could be the decisive day, Sunday’s, for the awarding of the 2025-2026 La Liga title: before we find out what Real Madrid will do at home to Espanyol, however, the league for now dominated by Barcelona offers three other interesting matches, all of them with particular significance at the standings level.
To open the dances is the 2 p.m. match between Celta Vigo and Elche: the Galicians can still hope, with a success, to move closer to the fifth place that would be worth qualifying for the Europa League, while the guests aim to distance themselves permanently from the boiling zone of the standings.
The game continues at 4:15 p.m. with Getafe-Rayo Vallecano: for the hosts it is an important match in order not to lose contact with the Europa zone, Rayo on the other hand wants to confirm the good things they showed against Strasbourg in the Conference League semifinal first leg won 1-0. At 6:30 p.m., another important match: Betis, currently fifth in the standings, wants to avoid surprises and seal its Europa League qualification in the match against last-place Oviedo, which will instead play for its remaining chances to stay in the top flight.
Closing the day for Espanyol-Real Madrid: Barcelona’s ‘cousins’ can in fact give the title to their city rivals by beating the Merengues or even just drawing. A success by Arbeloa’s men will therefore be needed to keep the title discourse open at least until the highly anticipated Camp Nou clash scheduled for May 10.
