International d'Italia internationals draw: Austrian or U.S. for Jannik Sinner

The men’s and women’s draw for the Internazionali d’Italia tennis tournament, edition 2026, scheduled May 5-17 at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy, has been drawn.
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, rebounding from his victory at the Madrid Masters 1000, will make his tournament debut in the second round on Friday or Saturday with the winner of the match between Austria’s Sebastian Ofner and the U.S.’s Alex Michelsen.
The third round could feature a match between Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini. Lorenzo Musetti ended up on the opposite side of the scoreboard from the No. 1 seed. The two could possibly meet only in the final.
In the women’s field, Jasmine Paolini will make her tournament debut in the second round against the winner between Romanian Cristian or Brazilian Haddad Maia. These are the other challenges for the Azzurri: Cocciaretto (Ita) vs Qualified, Stefanini (Ita) vs Ostapenko (Lat), Brancaccio (Ita) vs Qualified, Bronzetti (Ita) vs Kessler (Usa), Pigato (Ita) vs Grant (Ita), Trevisan (Ita) vs Gibson (Aus) and Ruggeri (Ita) vs Sonmez (Tur).
