Marc Marquez explains where Ducati dropped: "I came out of worse situations"

“I’ve come out of worse situations,” Marc Marquez spoke clearly in a press conference ahead of the MotoGP French Grand Prix in Le Mans. Ducati needs to pick itself up after a bad start to the season, and the Catalan rider explained what is wrong.

“Relying on rain is a phrase that I don’t like,” Marc premised, “because if you wait for rain, if a rider hopes for rain, or if you hope for rain so that a particular rider will benefit, it means that in dry conditions you are not proving the level to win. So, of course, whether it’s dry or wet, we will try to get the best.”

“The results show that we have speed but not consistency. So that’s where we have to focus or try to understand why we lack this consistency, which last year was our strength in all kinds of conditions, on all kinds of tracks. This year we have been much more inconsistent. Little by little, I think we’ll solve the problem,” he continued his analysis.

In particular, Marquez identified some areas where work needs to be done: “I notice it especially in the fast corners; that’s where I struggle the most, especially in the left turns, where I definitely go slower than last year. It’s the combination of everything, so you’re trying to find time elsewhere, which puts that under more scrutiny.”

Marc Marquez currently occupies fifth position in the MotoGP standings, 44 points behind World Championship leader and Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi.
