Here’s Laila Hasanovic in Rome: in the stands with the Sinner family

Finally Laila Hasanovic makes an appearance at the Foro Italico. The Danish model, who has been engaged to Jannik Sinner for more than a year and has already been in Rome for days also for business reasons, is in the stands for the first time for the match between the world’s number one Blue and Russian Daniil Medvedev, valid for the semifinal of the Internazionali d’Italia.
With her at her side is Mark, Jannik Sinner’s brother. Also in the stands are the champion’s parents, Hanspeter and Siglinde. Laila’s presence at the Foro Italico was eagerly awaited by the South Tyrolean’s fans, who consider her a real good luck charm for the champion. The Danish model had already followed Sinner during the Monte Carlo tournament he won in April, while he remained absent in Madrid due to work commitments related to fashion shows and events.
Next to Laila in the stands sits Mark Sinner, a discreet figure far from the spotlight despite his brother’s extraordinary popularity. A fire brigade instructor at the provincial fire school in Vilpian, Mark had told in the past how the family remained down-to-earth despite Jannik’s successes: “I am happy with the results Jannik is achieving, I follow him every day. I, however, have my own life and it has remained the same as before. Popularity has not made us change.”
On the semifinals hangs the risk of rain: a heavy disturbance had in fact forced the organizers to suspend the program around 4 p.m., also interrupting the first semifinal between Luciano Darderi and Casper Ruud and the warm-up of Sinner himself. In recent days, the world number one had, moreover, warned that he did not like to take the court too late: “I don’t like to take the court so late, we are human,” he had said in a press conference. “Then there is the time difference, you go to bed late, then the treatments, you have to eat, the press conference. When you get on the court so late, it’s hard to play good tennis. But I respect the audience who stayed up late.”
