Piero Bucchi returns to the big leagues: "Thank you Longobardi"

Twenty-three seasons as head coach in Serie A, over thirty years of basketball career and many experiences on the most prestigious benches on the Italian scene, from Olimpia Milano to Benetton Treviso to Virtus Roma, with even the Euroleague experienced as a protagonist. Now a new professional stage opens for Piero Bucchi: he will be the new coach of Givova Scafati. The coach has signed a two-year agreement with patron Nello Longobardi’s club and will lead the yellow-blues in the upcoming Serie A championship.

“I am happy to start this new adventure with Scafati – were the coach’s first words – I thank the president for the opportunity he gave me. In him I found enthusiasm, passion and desire to build an important season in the A Series. The promotion was the result of great work by the company, the staff and the players. Now, however, a completely different championship begins, which will require great organization, balance and daily mentality. Scafati is a warm square. Our goal will be to create a recognizable, competitive team capable of fighting every week. We will need the help of everyone: society, team and fans. In Serie A, details make a difference and compactness will be key. For my part, I will bring experience, hard work and maximum availability.”
