There was a time when Shakira was one of the most glamorous women on the planet (she is still beloved by her fans at 49). Rafael Nadal, in 2010, was at the top of his tennis game (that year he won three Slam titles, namely Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open). As fate would have it, the well-known singer and the fabulous tennis player shot some scenes together.

About what? To the music video for the song Gipsy, released just in 2010. The scenes, so to speak, were quite complicated with Rafa Nadal, for example, intent on relaxing, shirtless, on a chair while Shakira dances for him. Then, room also for effusions and hugs, with few skimpy clothes.

In short, not exactly such an easy feat for someone used to ace and bunt: “I remember when I went to shoot a music video with Shakira. I had to ask for a bottle of tequila to take a few shots and relax a bit,” Rafa Nadal’s own words in the documentary now available on a well-known streaming platform.

In short, Shakira’s allure had put even someone like Rafa Nadal, that is, the mentally strongest tennis player of his generation, on edge. The video with the Colombian singer, future partner of Gerard Piqué, put him to the test.
