Milan: Rafael Leao’s words embarrassed club and fans

“I think I gave Milan everything I could give. It was a club that helped me grow a lot, that supported me in difficult times. I am happy to have been able to write my name in the history of the club. I wish to try a new challenge in a new league. And if this were to happen, I would be very happy and satisfied, because it would mean that I have done my job in the best possible way.” Rafael Leao’s word.
His statements to SportTV, a Portuguese media outlet, continue to cause discussion. Fans did not take the 1999 striker’s outburst very well at all. Many, they defended him even when he disappointed expectations and expected a different attitude from the Portuguese.
The Rossoneri club has also stiffened, which, accomplice to these statements, will be forced to revise plans for his possible transfer. The possibility that he would be sold in the summer was likely but, after the striker’s words, it will be more difficult to sell him at certain figures.
At this point, it is quite predictable that the Rossoneri club will decide to set a minimum price. There is no intention to sell off a player who, best to remember, has a 175 million euro rescission clause. In short, if Rafael Leao wants to leave, the right offer will have to come. Clearly, it will not be even close to the amount of the rescission clause but the Diavolo will not consider “ridiculous” proposals. No favor to the Portuguese, of that there is no doubt. Meanwhile, the fans, even those who have always idolized him, have dumped him for good.
