MotoGP Mugello: big numbers on Sky and TV8 for Marco Bezzecchi's latest feat

Marco Bezzecchi also confirmed his strength in this first part of the MotoGP World Championship at Mugello: the Aprilia rider consolidated his leadership in the overall standings by winning the Italian Grand Prix at the Tuscan track ahead of teammate Jorge Martin and Ducati centaur Pecco Bagnaia.
The Rimini-born Bezzecchi thus won his first ever victory at Mugello, a dream he had since childhood.
After starting from the pole position, he went on the run mid-race sprinting solo to the finish line.
His latest feat had great ratings on Sky and TV8, with 1 million 995 thousand average viewers, and share of 16.5%, with over 2 million 912 thousand unique viewers. Now Bezzecchi has a 17-point lead over Jorge Martin: it was his tenth top class victory.
The victory at Mugello took on an even more special meaning thanks to Bezzecchi’s tribute to Alex Zanardi, who passed away recently. The rider from Rimini wore a special helmet on the track inspired by that of the great champion from Bologna. “This is the thing that makes me the happiest – confessed Bezzecchi to the microphones of Sky Sport – Unfortunately, I have never had the good fortune to meet Alex Zanardi in person, but I have always admired him from afar. His is an incredible story, almost unreal because of how powerful it is.”
Hence the idea of the special helmet: “After his passing, I saw the tribute that Formula 1 dedicated to him, and at that moment I said to myself that I should also do something. I am in an important position, I felt it was my duty to convey a message capable of reaching so many people.”
