Thieves break into England’s training camp in Kansas City: just days before Thomas Tuchel’s squad is set to make its 2026 World Cup debut against Croatia, the Three Lions suffered a mishap in the United States—certainly not a good omen ahead of the World Cup’s opening match.

The theft occurred after the team moved from its initial pre-tournament training camp in Palm Beach, Florida, to its new training base in Missouri. As reported by the BBC, the team found itself without technical equipment upon arriving in Kansas City: the Football Association confirmed the news, without releasing specific details on the matter so as not to hinder the police investigation.

According to reports, the thieves forced open the doors of the vans carrying Harry Kane and his teammates’ equipment and made off with practically everything, to the point that the team’s training activities risk being seriously disrupted.

Hundreds of official match balls, all training uniforms, medical kits, and some of the technological equipment used by Tuchel’s coaching staff have gone missing. The players’ custom game boots have also vanished, including those of stars Kane and Bellingham. It is possible that even the official match uniforms have disappeared—news that has left fans stunned and concerned.

While police are working to track down the culprits and recover the stolen goods, the English Football Association has taken urgent action to provide replacement equipment as soon as possible to avoid further harm to the team. “Two suspects have already been taken into custody and are currently being questioned pending further investigation,” the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department reported.
