Nicolò Bulega continues to make history, scoring a hat trick at Misano as well

Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) continues his extraordinary run in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, securing his 25th consecutive victory at Misano thanks to a stunning one-two-three finish at the Pirelli Round of Emilia-Romagna. In Race 2, the championship leader dominated the race, crossing the finish line with a lead of over five seconds over his teammate Iker Lecuona. Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) once again took the third step on the podium.
Lecuona got off to a flying start from the grid, maintaining the lead through the opening corners, but by Turn 11 of the opening lap, Bulega had taken the lead and immediately began setting his own pace. Bimota riders Axel Bassani and Alex Lowes also got off to a great start, playing key roles in the early stages.
A mistake by Lecuona at Turn 12 allowed Bulega to quickly pull away, building a lead of over two seconds and securing the victory. For the rider from Emilia, this marks his 21st win of the 2026 season, tying the record set by Toprak Razgatlioglu over the entire previous season. Bulega also achieved his seventh one-two finish of the year, an unprecedented result in the history of the category.
Lecuona continues to set records as well, securing his 18th consecutive second-place finish in WorldSBK. Behind him, Bassani’s podium finish seemed all but certain, but the rider from Veneto crashed with four laps to go at Turn 8, clearing the way for Montella, who delivered another convincing performance after getting the better of Alex Lowes in the early stages. For the rider from Campania, this marks his third podium finish of the Misano weekend.
Despite the disappointment of Bassani’s crash, Bimota has reason to smile thanks to Alex Lowes’ fourth-place finish, which confirmed the team’s competitiveness. Tarran Mackenzie (MGM Optical Express Racing) finished fifth after another solid performance, while Alberto Surra (Motocorsa Racing) came in sixth.
