There’s no respite for Milan: after failing to qualify for the Champions League—a goal that slipped away on the final matchday following a 2-1 loss to Cagliari at San Siro—Gerry Cardinale decided to overhaul the club’s management by firing Giorgio Furlani, Igli Tare, and Geoffrey Moncada, as well as Massimiliano Allegri.

The only survivor is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the Rossoneri fans are far from happy. In the days immediately following the defeat against Cagliari, a banner criticizing the Swedish star was hung outside Casa Milan, and he was also harshly criticized on social media. The most common criticism is that Ibrahimovic isn’t focused enough on what’s best for Milan, and the Swede’s latest “move” has once again inflamed Rossoneri fans.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gerry Cardinale took part in Donald Trump’s birthday celebrations: the two were in the front row to watch UFC Freedom 250, held in a 28-meter-high cage in the White House garden. For many Rossoneri supporters, this is a sign of disrespect toward the club, adding to his decision to serve as a commentator for a major TV network during the World Cup.

“It’s mid-June and we still don’t have a coach, a CEO, a sporting director… is his priority watching boxing and commentating on the World Cup?” asked a fan on X. “This club doesn’t deserve us—we’re left with a bitter taste in our mouths while they enjoy their vacations. Ibra is a huge disappointment. I loved him as a player, but now he’s making me change my mind…” echoed another fan.
