Pesaro is looking to Giorgio Valli to lead the way and is considering two new signings

Victoria Libertas Pesaro begins a new coaching era: the red-and-white club officially announced on Tuesday the arrival of Giorgio Valli as its new head coach, with a two-year contract that also includes a unilateral termination option in favor of the club at the end of the 2026-2027 season.
Born in 1962, Valli brings with him a long and varied career that began at Virtus Bologna, where he won two youth championships and was part of the staff that won the league title, the EuroLeague, and the Italian Cup between 1997 and 1999. His career as a head coach saw him lead teams in Serie B1 at Treviglio, then in Legadue with Ragusa, Sassari, and Scafati, winning the Italian Cup and securing promotion to Serie A in 2005-2006. In 2008, he led Ferrara to another promotion before returning to Serie A as an assistant coach at Olimpia Milano.
In the following years, he alternated between the top flight and Serie A2, moving from Montegranaro, Avellino, Forlì, and Mantova, before a stint abroad in Dubai with Al‑Ahli, with whom he won the league title and the Federation Cup. In the 2024–2025 season, he achieved one of the most surprising feats of the season: saving Napoli Basket from relegation after an initial 0–11 start. Now, the call from Pesaro.
“We are hiring a coach with proven technical skills, who is highly motivated, and whom we believe is currently the right person to continue fueling our development process,” Vuelle’s sports director, Nicola Egidio, told the club’s official channels. These words were echoed by Valli himself: “I am honored by the opportunity the club has given me to take on this exciting challenge, toward which I feel a great sense of responsibility.”
The official presentation will take place in the coming days, but work has already begun at VL. With Valli’s arrival, the club is evaluating its first moves in the transfer market to build a competitive roster aligned with the new coach’s vision. The priorities include strengthening the perimeter and adding an experienced big man—profiles the front office is monitoring to provide Valli with a team ready to start anew with ambition.
