Marko Podrascanin: A New Chapter as Sports Director of Cucine Lube Civitanova

Cucine Lube Civitanova

Following his appointment as sporting director of Cucine Lube Civitanova, Marko Podrascanin is preparing to take on a new professional challenge at the club where he was a key player on the court for over a decade. A new phase of his career is beginning for the former Serbian middle blocker, one he is approaching with the same enthusiasm and determination that have defined his journey as an athlete.

The new sporting director’s first words are directed at the club’s leadership: “I thank the owners and management for the trust they have placed in me. It is a great honor for me to receive such a significant token of esteem. I grew up with Lube, and this club is a part of me. I feel a great sense of responsibility: Lube has given me so much over the years, and now I want to give back all the affection and excitement I’ve received.”

Next week, Podrascanin will immediately dive into his new role. On the agenda is a trip to Ljubljana, alongside head coach Giampaolo Medei, to closely follow the Slovenian leg of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. This decision demonstrates his commitment to immediately serving the club: “I canceled my vacation in Sicily with my family because I want to get to work right away and make myself available to the club. From my home in Novi Sad, Serbia, I’ll travel to Slovenia with our coach Giampaolo Medei to attend the second leg of the VNL. It will be an opportunity to meet the players and their agents and truly kick off this new adventure.”

After a career full of successes, Podrascanin brings to his new role a wealth of experience gained at the highest levels of international volleyball. This background will prove invaluable in managing relationships with the athletes and building team cohesion: “As a player, I always tried to make my voice heard in the locker room and contribute to the team’s cohesion. Obviously, the role will be different, but I believe my charisma and experience will help me. I’ve been fortunate to share the court with champions from different generations, and this experience will serve me well in my interactions with the players.”
