Ducati’s Tardozzi Can’t Contain His Excitement After Marquez’s Contract Extension: “He’s superhuman—you guys just don’t know it…”

Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi spoke about Marc Marquez, who has just extended his contract with the Borgo Panigale team through 2028. The Catalan rider won in the Czech Republic over the weekend and has closed the gap on Marco Bezzecchi even further: “Marc is incredible and never ceases to amaze me. We know exactly what his physical condition is, and what he’s doing is superhuman. He’s doing what no other rider could do in his physical condition,” Tardozzi told As.
“I want to talk more about the person than the rider—a person who never ceases to amaze you with how he tackles problems and his focus on what he needs to do. He’s a great professional and a great talent, but it’s his human side that makes the difference and drives him to achieve these results. “I’m getting old, but I’m not leaving because I enjoy working with a rider like Marc and at Ducati too much. This has always been my dream and my passion, and at the same time, it’s my job, so I feel lucky that Ducati has given me the opportunity to work with riders like him.”
Here’s Marc Marquez’s comment following the contract renewal: “I’m red. I’m really happy about this new agreement with the Ducati Lenovo Team and to continue being part of this family,” said the reigning MotoGP champion. “When I decided to join Ducati, I was convinced that this was by far the most competitive project. They believed in me, and we’ve built a relationship based on trust and hard work. With this renewal, they’ve reaffirmed that commitment once again, respecting my timeline and giving me the peace of mind I needed to make the right decision.”
“In our first year together, we fought for the title and won it: an invaluable achievement that confirms we chose the right path. I continue to race because I love this sport and want to commit myself to achieving even more ambitious goals. I’m convinced this is the right place to do it. As long as I’m here, I’ll give my all to paint the future red.”
