Marco Bezzecchi Aims for Redemption: The Aprilia rider, who wants to put the disqualification from the last Grand Prix, topped the pre-qualifying session for the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen. The MotoGP World Championship leader, with a time of 1’31.123, finished ahead of the two riders from the Aprilia satellite team, Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura, and KTM rider Pedro Acosta.

Also in the Top 10—and thus advancing directly to Q2 in Saturday morning’s qualifying—were the two Ducati factory riders, Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez, as well as Fabio Di Giannantonio of Valentino Rossi’s team, who finished seventh.

Also in the top 10 were Enea Bastianini (KTM), the other Aprilia rider Jorge Martin—though he was more than half a second behind his teammate Bezzecchi—and Gresini Team rider Alex Marquez. The younger of the Marquez brothers was, despite himself, the victim of a nasty crash at the end of the session: the Spaniard, who was already recovering from a previous injury, was taken to the medical center for evaluation.
