Rapper Drake is back with his crazy bets. The famous Canadian artist announced on social media that he had bet $770,000 on Canada to beat South Africa in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

The odds are 1.30: if Canada wins, Drake would take home about one million dollars. The singer posted a screenshot of his betting slip, explaining that he had upped the ante after receiving a taunt in a chat from the famous South African DJ Black Coffee.

But Canadian fans are far from happy: the “Drake Curse” could strike again. In the past, the rapper has bet on athletes and teams that have subsequently lost without fail.

It also happened to Jannik Sinner at the 2025 U.S. Open. Drake had bet $300,000 on the Italian’s victory, but Sinner was ultimately defeated in the final by Carlos Alcaraz. In 2024, the rapper had bet a fortune on Taylor Fritz, who was then defeated in the final by Sinner himself. Among Drake’s other losses, the $355,000 he lost by betting on Mike Tyson in his match against Jake Paul stands out.

Canada is starting to tremble.
