Milan has reached a final agreement with Lazio regarding the signing of Mario Gila. After an initial offer that failed to satisfy Lazio, talks over the past few hours have smoothed out the remaining financial differences, quickly leading to a deal.

The decisive breakthrough came this afternoon, following a meeting at Casa Milan between player trading director Hendrik Almstadt and Alejandro Camaño, the Spanish defender’s agent. The agent had also stopped by Formello the previous day to discuss the matter with Lazio’s management before relaying their demands to the Rossoneri.

Milan thus decided to make a new offer without altering the terms already agreed upon with the player. Gila will sign a five-year contract worth 5 million euros net per season, while the commissions for the Footfeel ISM agency remain unchanged.

What did change, however, was the offer made to Lazio. The club based on Via Aldo Rossi met the request to reach a total valuation of 30 million euros thanks to easily attainable bonuses and the inclusion in the deal of Lorenzo Calvani, a left back for Lazio’s Primavera team, valued at 2.5 million euros in a separate deal. Furthermore, regarding the fixed portion of Gila’s transfer, 50% of the proceeds will go to Real Madrid CF, in accordance with the agreements signed at the time of his transfer to Lazio.

Now only the formalities remain. The defender will undergo his physical in the coming hours and, barring any surprises, will be available to Ruben Amorim as early as Monday’s training camp.

The situation is different for Gonçalo Ramos, another major signing for the Rossoneri this summer. The forward, who was eliminated from the World Cup with Portugal just Monday evening, will take some time off before joining the team at Milanello in late July.

With the arrivals of Ramos and Gila, Milan has invested approximately 100 million euros in transfer fees alone—a strong signal of the new strategy championed by Gerry Cardinale. Following the appointment of Amorim as head coach and the reorganization of the management team, the Rossoneri have embarked on a very ambitious transfer campaign, which is set to continue in the coming weeks.
