Vitea and Faravelli Wineries Conquer Brianza Once Again

The Golf Brianza Country Club hosted a new round of the 2026 AKE Golf Cup, an event that combines competition, passion, and excitement on the golf course. The event was enhanced by the presence of Cantine Vitea, which hosted an exclusive wine tasting for participants at the end of the tournament, during the scoring ceremony. It was an opportunity to discover some of the winery’s wines and enjoy a moment of camaraderie after the competition.
The initiative is part of the Golf and Wine 1895 project, which aims to highlight the connection between the world of golf and the region’s culinary and wine excellence, offering players an experience that goes beyond the sporting aspect. A special promotion is also available to all participants in the AKE Golf Cup circuit, offering a 25% discount on all Cantine Vitea products, valid exclusively during the circuit’s tournaments.
The driving force behind the initiative is Antonio Faravelli, a winemaker and golfer from Montù Beccaria, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese region, owner of Cantine Vitea, and creator of the “Golf and Wine 1895” project. Among the wines offered for tasting are some of the winery’s most award-winning productions: the Metodo Classico Pinot Nero Pas Dosé, the Pinot Grigio Trame’s, and the Bonarda Gallesio—all ranked by Italy’s Finest Wines among the best Italian wines and, in the past, even capable of winning over the famous composer Giacomo Puccini. Also on the list are the Podere San Carlo Chardonnay, the Riesling Viteus—which won an award at the Hunter Award in Merano—and the Cà del Cervo Buttafuoco, which was awarded the “Corona” by the Vinibuoni d’Italia guide.
The event at the Golf Brianza Country Club is part of a particularly busy season for Faravelli, which in 2026 has already graced the greens of some of Italy’s most prestigious clubs, including the Golf Club Monticello, the Golf Club Le Rovedine, the Villa Paradiso Golf Club in Cornate d’Adda, the Barlassina Golf Club, the La Pinetina Golf Club, and the Bogogno Golf Resort in the Novara area, receiving enthusiastic acclaim everywhere for both the wines and the entrepreneurial vision behind the project.
Cantine Vitea traces its roots back to 1895, the year in which great-grandfather Antonio Faravelli founded the company in Montù Beccaria. For over a century and across five generations, the family has carried on a winemaking tradition that combines artisanal expertise, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability, adopting integrated and eco-sustainable cultivation practices recognized by the European Union’s Rural Development Plan. The vineyards, situated at altitudes between 230 and 275 meters on clay-limestone soils, enjoy excellent sun exposure—ideal conditions for producing grapes of the highest quality.
The philosophy behind the “Golf and Wine 1895” project goes beyond simply promoting wines. As Faravelli himself emphasized during previous events on the circuit: “It is essential to grow the sport of golf in our country. The more people play this sport, the more the local economy, tourism, and the promotion of the region are strengthened. If golf grows, the entire system grows. Let’s play and work together for the good of Italy.”
