F1, it’s not over yet for Daniel Ricciardo: his words on Red Bull
The future is not yet decided.
Daniel Ricciardo seems to be one step away from returning to Red Bull as early as 2023, this time in the role of third driver. This was made clear without mincing words by Helmut Marko himself, but in the meantime came the response of the person concerned. Who gave no impression of being in a hurry to confirm his new engagement.
“We are talking about it, about that there is no doubt. At the moment, however, there is nothing signed – were Ricciardo’s words from Abu Dhabi, as reported by ‘Autosprint’ – We are definitely closer and I want to be honest, the situation right now is this. But maybe Marko misses me and got caught up in the excitement.”
“The negotiations are serious, and when I sign I will tell you. Maybe this will also happen quite soon, but at the moment there are still issues to be settled,” Ricciardo concluded. The Australian will leave McLaren after an extremely poor season, while 2021 though difficult saw the great joy of victory at Monza.
“Ricciardo will be our third driver, we have so many sponsored events, we have to do similar shows and activities, so of course he is one of the most suitable and high-profile,” had been Marko’s words to ‘Sky Germany’.
