Juventus Transfer Market: Allegri Knocks on the Door of His Former Team

This is bad news for Allegri, who now finds himself with an even thinner defense. Marianucci’s injury comes on top of Alessandro Buongiorno’s and further reduces the options available to the coach ahead of the season opener. The situation could also have repercussions on Napoli’s transfer strategies. The crisis in the backline makes it even more urgent for the club to take action to ensure Allegri has a sufficient number of center backs.

Among the names already linked to Napoli is Federico Gatti, a Juventus defender highly regarded for his technical ability, physicality, and reliability. Marianucci’s injury could prompt Napoli to speed up the process and turn their interest into actual negotiations.

Juventus has valued him at around 25 million euros. It’s a significant sum, but one that Napoli might be willing to consider given the emergency that has arisen. Allegri, in fact, cannot afford to start the new season with a squad that’s too thin in defense. The dual absences of Buongiorno and Marianucci inevitably shift priorities and could give a decisive boost to the search for a new center back.
