Fiorentina Transfer Market: It’s Official—Pellegrino Is the Ninth Signing

Fiorentina is currently the king of the transfer market. The Viola have made their ninth signing, securing Argentine forward Mateo Pellegrino from Parma. The deal had been in the works for weeks and has now been successfully concluded: the center forward is expected to arrive in Emilia in the coming hours.

Pellegrino will take the place of Roberto Piccoli, who is set to move to Bologna to replace Dallinga, who has joined Cologne. According to reports, Fiorentina will pay the Gialloblu club approximately 20 million euros, split between a loan fee and an obligation to buy. The forward has already reached an agreement with the Tuscan club, which will soon officially announce its ninth signing following Dragusin, Viery, Valdepenas, Jimenez, Joao Mario, Atta, Oulai, and Real Madrid’s rising star Mastantuono.

Mateo Pellegrino, 24, is a physically imposing forward skilled in aerial duels, capable of playing as a second striker as well. In his two years at Parma, he scored 15 goals in 52 matches across all competitions. Previously, he played for Vélez Sarsfield, Estudiantes, and Platense. Pellegrino’s value has grown exponentially during his time in Emilia. Acquired by Parma from Vélez Sarsfield for just 3 million euros, the Argentine quickly made a name for himself in Serie A, becoming one of the league’s most sought-after center forwards.

The Viola have big ambitions: new signing Christ Inao Oulai confirmed the club’s goals during a press conference a few days ago. “The project presented to me was decisive.
