It’s still hard to predict, however, which version of Milan he’ll see. An important indication will come from Saturday’s friendly in Wroclaw against Manchester United—a match that will allow Amorim to assess the team’s condition and determine which players he can count on ahead of the official season opener.

One of the first issues to be resolved concerns Mike Maignan. The French goalkeeper will not return from vacation until Sunday—exactly one week before the away match against Torino. Like the rest of the team, he followed the personalized training program prepared by Amorim’s staff during the summer break, but his physical condition will need to be assessed on the field.
