Inter Transfer News: Imminent Transfer to Roma to Sign Curtis Jones

Unlike most of its rivals, Inter is already preparing to wrap up its transfer window, even though it still needs to complete two more signings. The sale of Davide Frattesi to Lazio has freed up a spot in Inter’s midfield, but it hasn’t allowed the club to recoup the funds needed to secure the final signing of the summer transfer window: Curtis Jones.

Inter has the Liverpool outbound player in its sights but intends first to finalize another major sale: that of Luis Henrique. The Brazilian winger has long been linked with Roma, and negotiations with the Giallorossi are at an advanced stage. According to Corriere dello Sport, talks are centered around a fee of approximately 30 million euros, including bonuses. Inter and Roma have yet to agree on the terms, and the involvement of a Premier League club cannot be ruled out: in recent weeks, several English clubs have made inquiries about the Brazilian, who is no longer part of Chivu’s plans.

If Inter secures the sale of the winger, they will undoubtedly go after Curtis Jones, who remains a very expensive target despite his contract expiring in 2027. The Reds want no less than 35 million euros for the player’s permanent transfer, and the funds from the Luis Henrique deal will come in handy in this regard. With Jones’ arrival, Inter’s summer transfer window will effectively be closed: if necessary, the English player can also play right back, thus filling the void left by Luis Henrique’s departure in that area of the field.

The Liverpool midfielder has reportedly already expressed his preference for Inter as his destination, personally denying rumors of alleged agreements with other clubs. On a personal level, the parties have reportedly already reached an agreement on salary and bonuses, meaning the deal is effectively just awaiting the green light from both clubs. The gap between Inter and Liverpool therefore remains purely financial: the Nerazzurri are aiming to close the deal for between 30 and 35 million euros, including bonuses, while the Reds initially valued him at close to 40 million. As the transfer window nears its close, however, Liverpool’s stance could soften to avoid the risk of losing the player on a free transfer in a year.
