Fiorentina Transfer Market: Eyes Turn to Chelsea for a Replacement for Kean

Among the players Fiorentina is tracking to bolster its attack is Emanuel Emegha. The 23-year-old Dutch center forward, who just finished last season with Strasbourg and is on Chelsea’s radar, has caught the eye of Fiorentina’s management, which continues to closely monitor the international transfer market in search of potential opportunities.
Emegha’s name could become an even more serious possibility should Moise Kean leave Florence. Fiorentina has already covered its bases with the arrival of Mateo Pellegrino from Parma—who is set to take Roberto Piccoli’s spot on the roster—but the departure of the national team forward would necessitate another addition to the attack.
Kean’s future, in particular, remains one of the main sticking points in Fiorentina’s transfer market. Como has already submitted an offer of 25 million euros plus 5 million in bonuses, a figure that Paratici did not deem sufficient to open negotiations. Now that the validity period of the 62-million buyout clause—active from July 1 to 15—has expired, Fiorentina is reportedly willing to consider only offers of at least 40 million.
For the time being, Como has not made a new bid, despite the fact that Kean is specifically requested by Cesc Fabregas. The coach would, in fact, like another striker to face the Champions League and is waiting to see if the club decides to renew its bid or turn its attention to other targets.
Kean, meanwhile, is reportedly not pushing for a transfer and has left the decision about his future up to Fiorentina. Only if an offer deemed adequate is made could a transfer actually take place. In that case, the search for a new center forward would begin in earnest, and Emegha’s profile would be one of the top candidates to consider.
