Inter Transfer Market: A Surprising Trade—A 40-Million Sale to Land a New Forward

Inter could find itself facing a decidedly eventful end to the summer transfer window. The Nerazzurri are in fact considering the departure of Ange-Yoann Bonny, who is valued at no less than 40 million euros: The situation has been gaining momentum in recent hours, with the French-Ivorian striker attracting interest from Fiorentina (which is reportedly eyeing him as a replacement should Moise Kean leave) and several foreign clubs, with the Premier League leading the pack.

The new striker could come from the Premier League itself—the same league that has already brought in Djed Spence and John Stones—with the signs pointing to Gabriel Martinelli, who is at odds with Arsenal to the point that he wasn’t even called up for the Community Shield, which the Gunners won against Manchester City. Compared to Bonny, Martinelli is less physical but more versatile and can also be effective on the wings: the 40-million transfer fee would provide significant financial flexibility to successfully complete the deal.

Born in 2001 and hailing from the Brazilian state of São Paulo, Gabriel Martinelli began playing five-a-side soccer with Corinthians, later moving up to Timão’s 11-a-side team, and eventually relocating to Rio de Janeiro to complete his youth development at Flamengo. After transferring to Ituano in 2018, he caught the attention of Arsenal scouts, who brought him to England at just 18 years old. With the Gunners, Martinelli won the 2025–2026 Premier League title, scoring in double digits for the season (including cup competitions).

Meanwhile, speaking of the attack, rumors continue to swirl regarding Barcelona’s massive offer for Lautaro Martínez, with the Catalans willing to invest over 100 million for the transfer of the “Toro” from Bahía Blanca. Inter’s stance, however, remains clear: the Argentine center forward is not for sale. This stance has tempered the rumors, though it hasn’t quashed them entirely, given the international stature the player has now achieved.
