Lewis Hamilton’s first winless season in Formula 1 ended with a disconsolate retirement.
The seven-time world champion in the season finale gave important signs of revival but in Abu Dhabi after a race full of problems he had to raise the white flag.
“The hardest thing this year was simply to keep getting back up and trying again. That was the hardest challenge for everyone, regardless of the problems. Getting back up after being hit was really complex, however, we showed strength by trying to fight back day after day. I can say that I am really grateful for that.”
