2026-2027 Premier League: Brentford vs. Tottenham, Probable Lineups
Brentford and Tottenham face off at 4:00 p.m. in their opening match of the 2026–2027 Premier League season. It’s a tricky opener at the Gtech Community Stadium for Roberto De Zerbi’s Spurs, a team that has been completely overhauled since last season following a massive transfer campaign that brought in several high-profile signings, including Sandro Tonali from Nottingham Forest. De Zerbi said he is happy with the signings made but not yet completely satisfied: “I’m very happy with the transfer window so far, but we’re not done yet. We’ve had a fantastic summer in terms of signings: great players, great attitude, great spirit, great character. But you know better than I do that in the Premier League, you don’t win games just with big names or star players. We have to earn our victories. And to earn them, we have to reach a high level in terms of character, passion, values, and style of play.”
On the controversy surrounding the money spent: “I’ve never seen a team compete at the highest level without spending money. Perhaps the fact that Tottenham spends money is a problem for the Premier League? I don’t know why, but all the other teams have spent money in the past and even this season.”
