2026-2027 Serie A: Bologna vs. Lazio, Probable Lineups

Bologna and Lazio face off at 6:30 p.m. at the Dall’Ara Stadium in the first of two Monday night matches on the first matchday of Serie A. This is Domenico Tedesco’s first official match as coach of the Rossoblù, who lost both of their August friendlies against Pisa and Brighton and are still a work in progress. The Biancocelesti are coming off a tough loss in the Coppa Italia against Mantova and are looking to bounce back and regain confidence at the start of the Gennaro Gattuso era.

Piccoli wins the starting spot over Dovbyk and starts from the 1st minute at the center of Bologna’s attack, flanked by Orsolini and Rowe. In midfield, El Azzouzi plays as the playmaker with Bernardeschi and Ferguson as central midfielders; Zortea and Miranda are on the wings.

Lazio responds with the attacking trio of Cancellieri, Dia, and Zaccagni. In midfield, Rovella partners with Frattesi (making his debut from the start) and Taylor, while Marusic and Pedraza man the flanks.

Tedesco isn’t taking Lazio’s rough start lightly: “I watched their Coppa Italia match and their preseason friendlies. I’m too far removed to judge the atmosphere, but it would be crazy to underestimate them. We’re expecting a very strong opponent. The biggest pressure is the one we put on ourselves. The team is growing in terms of character and ball possession. Tomorrow we’ll see exactly where we stand; it’ll be a process that progresses game by game. In any case, we want to play, and I’m seeing progress in that regard.”
