Alessandro Vescini Under Fire; Pierluigi Pardo Speaks Out Harshly: “Surreal”

Countless users complained about DAZN and criticized Vescini (sometimes very harshly), but his colleague and friend Pierluigi Pardo came to the journalist’s defense: “Taking it out on Alessandro Vescini would be like taking it out on Jack Nicholson, who reportedly took 60 takes to film the ‘Here’s Johnny’ scene (partly because Kubrick was a perfectionist genius),” he wrote on Facebook

“If you’re recording a fake live broadcast, you know it might or might not air, and that if you don’t like it, you can decide to stop. It’s happened to me hundreds of times in my career,” continued the well-known Roman journalist. “Anyone who insults him on a professional level shows they aren’t particularly sharp.”

“Now, I understand that people aren’t expected to know the inner workings of TV, but to think that someone on live TV would just stop on their own is pretty laughable. Obviously, there was a mistake in airing that clip—a clear gaffe—but taking it out on him is surreal. Then again, of course, Ale and I are among those who sometimes make mistakes; we’re not brilliant, public-speaking geniuses, or formidable hosts like those who criticize us.
