Jannik Sinner, the no-nonsense stylist to the stars: “I’d change everything about him”

Lorenzo Posocco, a 43-year-old stylist from Conegliano who is currently best known for his work with Dua Lipa, has collaborated with some of the biggest international stars throughout his career. “I’ve worked with Rosalía, Sabrina Carpenter, Rihanna, and of course Dua. And then there’s Marracash, with whom we’ve worked for several years. The Sanremo Festival with Elodie was also a challenge; we chose a Valentino dress by Piccioli that had been shown on the runway the week before in Paris! It was a risk, but with Elodie, improvising is easy: she’s a perfect performer.”

A job built on intuition, as he told Corriere della Sera, but also on the ability to read people and understand their personalities and potential. A sensitivity that, inevitably, also opens the door to new challenges. What if the next star were Jannik Sinner? “I’d change just about everything about him. But, oh well, clearly there’s material to work with.”

The prospect of engaging with worlds beyond music and entertainment doesn’t seem to faze him at all. On the contrary, it is precisely transformation through image that intrigues him: “I’m very interested in understanding what a person can become through their image. But they have to be willing to put themselves out there. Styling isn’t just about putting on an outfit; it’s about understanding who you have in front of you—there’s a good dose of psychology involved.”

And perhaps it is precisely this ability to go beyond the outfit that is the true secret of his craft. It’s not just about choosing a look, but about guiding a person toward a new version of themselves, to the point of bringing out something they may not even have seen in themselves yet: “I think the best part is when someone arrives a little nervous at first, not even knowing what to ask you, and then suddenly blossoms. That’s when the work gets interesting. When you see someone take a direction and that direction really sticks with them.”
