Juventus Transfer Market: Deal with Franck Kessié Falls Through, According to Sky

Ahead of their home opener against Parma, Juventus continues to be active in the transfer market, and there are important developments regarding Franck Kessié. After discussions with the player’s representatives, Giovanni Carnevali and Frederic Massara held a face-to-face meeting with Franck Kessié in an effort to reach an agreement and break the deadlock in negotiations.

Juventus had offered the midfielder a two-year contract worth 3.5 million euros per season, with an option for a third year. According to Sky Sport, however, Kessié reportedly told the Bianconeri that the conditions for reaching an agreement are not currently in place. Roma thus remains in the background, having continued to maintain contact with the midfielder in recent hours. Should he move to the capital, Kessié would be reunited with Gian Piero Gasperini, with whom he could work again following their time together at Atalanta.

Meanwhile, Juventus continues to reshape its midfield, awaiting a last-minute transfer coup, and has finalized another outgoing transfer: Fabio Miretti will play the 2026–2027 season in Turkey for Besiktas, where he is moving on loan through June 30. This move is in line with Luciano Spalletti’s strategy, as he aims to reduce congestion in midfield and clearly define the pecking order among the midfielders.

For Miretti, this opens the door to his first experience abroad after a career spent entirely at Juve: he joined the Old Lady at age 8, came up through the youth system, then moved to Next Gen, and finally to the first team, with which he made his debut in December 2021. Since then, he has made 106 appearances and scored 3 goals: last season, he racked up 31 appearances, but competition and the new pecking order have prompted the club to consider a different solution—one that will still guarantee him regular playing time.

Beşiktaş, which launched an ambitious technical project this summer, is led by Vincenzo Italiano, who has already welcomed a familiar face to Juventus fans—Dusan Vlahovic—to Istanbul: the Serbian arrived on a free transfer after a lengthy back-and-forth that extended even beyond the June 30 contract expiration date. Miretti’s arrival is part of a technical rebuild that the Turkish club is resolutely pursuing.
