2026 Mediterranean Games: Updated Medal Count
The action-packed days of sports continue in Taranto and the surrounding area with the 2026 Mediterranean Games, which—for this 20th edition—are being held in the “City of the Two Seas,” chosen as the main venue, with the participation of other towns in the province (Statte, Crispiano, Castellaneta, Massafra, Martina Franca, San Giorgio Jonico, Montemesola, Torricella, and Grottaglie), the Brindisi area (Brindisi itself, Fasano, and Francavilla Fontana), and the Murgia Barese region (Conversano), with events also scheduled in Lecce.
2026 MEDITERRANEAN GAMES, UPDATED MEDAL TALLY
There are twenty-six participating countries, all of which are members of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG): in addition to Italy, the host nation, there will be athletes from Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Croatia, Egypt, France, Greece, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, North Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, the Principality of Monaco, Montenegro, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Syria, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia, and Turkey. A small delegation from Vatican City will also be present, competing outside the medal standings.

A total of thirty-two sports are on the schedule through the end of the Games, scheduled for September 3: track and field, badminton, bocce, soccer, canoeing/kayaking, rowing, cycling, equestrian, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, karate, wrestling, swimming, finswimming, padel, 3×3 basketball, handball, water polo, volleyball, speed skating, boxing, fencing, skateboarding, weightlifting, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting, archery, triathlon, and sailing.
