MotoGP Aragon: Marc Marquez dominates; a tenacious Bezzecchi finishes third. Bagnaia crashes

Marc Marquez wins the Aragon Grand Prix and closes in on the top of the MotoGP overall standings. The Honda rider dominated his home race, crossing the finish line ahead of his compatriot Pedro Acosta (KTM) and Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi.

The rider from Rimini, who started from pole position, led the race in the early laps but was constantly hounded by the reigning world champion, who played a game of cat and mouse before making the decisive pass with 17 laps to go. Bezzecchi was then also overtaken by Pedro Acosta, the future Ducati rider, and had to settle for third place on the podium.

It was another disappointing day for Pecco Bagnaia, who was consistently off the pace and crashed after just a few laps at Turn 9 of the Aragon circuit. Alex Marquez finished the race in fourth place ahead of World Championship leader Jorge Martin and Fermin Aldeguer of the Gresini team. Also in the top ten were Fabio Di Giannantonio, Enea Bastianini, Diogo Moreira, and Brad Binder.

Thanks to his eighth career victory at Aragon, Marquez moves up to second place in the overall standings, overtaking Bezzecchi and closing in on leader Martin.
