Kostic in doubt, Serbian coach calls Juve into question
Dragan Stojkovic appeared very testy in the press conference on the eve of Brazil-Serbia
On Thursday it will be the turn of the teams from Groups G and H to take the field for their World Cup debut. In the former, the standout match is certainly that between Brazil and Serbia, who will face each other at 8 p.m. Italian time in Losail, already the scene of Argentina’s resounding defeat against Saudi Arabia.
In the customary press conference on the eve of the match, Serbian coach Dragan Stojkovic announced a major lineup doubt: Filip Kostic, the Juve outfielder who has done so well with the Bianconeri jersey especially in the last few league matches, may not be there. The thigh muscle problem could likely cause him to miss the important world debut against one of the big favorites.
“Kostic is our only question mark. He’s been suffering from a muscle problem since the last match he played in a Juventus jersey,” said the Serbian coach, showing some strain in explaining the genesis of the injury. “His absence could be a big problem for us,” the former Hellas Verona player concluded.
