Sofia Goggia was a surprise guest at the wedding of Giorgia Cardinaletti and Francesco Bechis

Giorgia Cardinaletti and Francesco Bechis are now husband and wife. The TG1 news anchor and the parliamentary correspondent for *Il Messaggero* were married today, Saturday, October 10, in a religious ceremony at the Cathedral of San Venanzio in Fabriano, the anchor’s hometown. The wedding Mass, celebrated by Father Antonio Ivan Esposito, began at 4:00 p.m. In the late afternoon, the celebrations continued at the Hotel Relais Marchese del Grillo, a historic 18th-century mansion chosen for the reception.

The wedding was organized with the utmost discretion, in line with the couple’s decision to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. Cardinaletti, 39, and Bechis, 31, decided to get married after about a year of dating, maintaining the utmost discretion even during the preparations for the big day. About 180 guests are expected at the reception, including some colleagues from Tg1 and Italian ski champion Sofia Goggia. Rumors are also circulating about the possible presence of singer-songwriter Niccolò Fabi, but no official confirmation has emerged.

The catering is being handled by chef Giuliano Viaggi, who will serve a menu featuring specialties from the Marche region. The menu features traditional dishes such as white ragù and grilled meat, followed by the wedding cake. The evening will then continue with a DJ set, set to entertain the newlyweds and guests until late into the night. Before meeting Bechis, Cardinaletti had been in a relationship with singer-songwriter Cesare Cremonini. That relationship, too, was kept very private, in an effort to keep her personal life separate from her professional commitments.

Her relationship with Bechis reportedly began in the summer of 2025, after the journalist returned from a vacation in Ireland. The two reportedly met during several professional events in which Cardinaletti was participating as a host, sparking a relationship that they sought to shield from media scrutiny from the very beginning.

Their first public appearance together dates back to December 2025, at the Graldi Awards, when Bechis received the award in the Under-35 Journalism category, appearing alongside the TG1 journalist. In the months that followed, there were further confirmations of their relationship, culminating in a marriage proposal.
