Luciano Spalletti takes another jab at Kolo Muani—and at Cagliari as well

The last Cagliari-Juventus match, played last January during the 2025–26 season, didn’t go well for the Bianconeri, so Luciano Spalletti, on the eve of the match against the Sardinians, is setting the record straight: “They deserve the points they’ve earned so far, but not last year’s victory. It will be a tough match because they’re good at turning the tide; they have talented players. We’ll have to be skilled, decisive, and intense.”

On the subject of the Scudetto, the Tuscan coach is straightforward: “We don’t care if some people don’t include Juve in the title race; Juve will always be destined to win, and there will never be a break for those who choose these colors. We’re the ones raising the bar—we won’t let anyone else tell us how high it should be.”

Spalletti sees no lack of hunger in the team: “After the loss to Sassuolo, we’ve won twice. We always want to improve because that’s the only way to grow. Hunger is important in soccer; you have to make your profession your reason for living. We’re doing that, but there’s always room to do better.” It was inevitable to return to the topic of forwards, and in particular Kolo Muani: “We value him highly, and I ask him to move all over the attacking front because he knows how to do it; he shouldn’t limit himself to playing as a center forward—he also has the ability to play on the wing, as well as to score with headers and acrobatic shots.”

Nico Gonzalez has re-signed: “He’s someone with the look of a determined person who wants to shape his own future; he’s intense in everything he does.” The next player set to return is Koopmeiners: “I believe in him very much; he’s a top-tier player who can do many things and play multiple roles on the field.”
