Fabrizio Biasin criticizes his Inter team, using harsh words: “More humility”

Tuesday night’s Champions League loss to Club Brugge highlighted several of Inter’s weaknesses. Chivu’s team conceded the first goal on a foul committed by Hakan Calhanoglu in the penalty area; then, a glaring error by Josep Martinez allowed the Belgians to double their lead, and the Nerazzurri fell apart.
Journalist and die-hard Inter fan Fabrizio Biasin didn’t mince words when commenting on the defeat suffered by Marcus Thuram and his teammates: “Lautaro’s miss in front of the net, Martinez’s blunder, Spence’s misplaced pass, and more,” he wrote on his highly followed X profile. “It’s all true—individual mistakes were decisive and condemned Inter to a humiliating defeat.”
“But while individual mistakes and defeat are part of the game (it’s called sports—it happens), what’s hard to accept is the total loss of composure after the 1-2 goal. A mature team shakes off an individual setback and gets back to playing (it’s happened many times in the league), yesterday, however, Inter stopped playing as a team and turned a Champions League match into a frantic, haphazard game of soccer, with Bruges showing no fear at all—good at absorbing pressure and even better at exploiting the gaps left by their opponents.”
“Chivu’s team wasn’t a ‘Champions League-winning’ squad before yesterday’s game, and it isn’t a hopeless team today,” noted Inter fan Biasin, “but it must accept its limitations and correct them with a touch more humility and balance (the recklessness you can get away with in Italy, you can’t afford in Europe).”
“The fact is that Inter has truly immense potential, but to realize it to the fullest, they must stop taking it for granted. “We’re starting over; the road ahead is very long,” was the Nerazzurri journalist’s bitter remark.
