2026-2027 Europa League: Lyon vs. Crystal Palace, Probable Lineups

Lyon and Crystal Palace face off at 6:45 p.m. in a match for Matchday 2 of the Europa League group stage. Both teams won their opening matches: the French side defeated Anderlecht 2-1, while the English team routed Lech Poznan. However, OL is coming off an away loss to Lens in their league return, while the Londoners defeated Nottingham at home in the Premier League.
Lyon’s attacking duo will consist of Nuamah and Nakamura, with Sulc in the attacking midfield. In midfield is the trio of Morton, Bidstrup, and Tolisso, with Athekame and Tagliafico on the wings. Openda is injured and will not play.
Larsen is Palace’s main attacking threat, with Kamada and Pino playing behind him, while Wharton and Timber anchor the midfield. The fullbacks are Khalaili and Mitchell.
Lyon vs. Crystal Palace: Probable Lineups
LYON (4-3-1-2): Greif; Athekame, Bacher, Kluivert, Tagliafico; Morton, Bidstrup, Tolisso; Sulc; Nuamah, Nakamura.
CRYSTAL PALACE (3-4-2-1): Benítez; Richards, Disasi, Canvot; Khalaili, Wharton, Timber, Mitchell; Kamada, Pino; Larsen.
“Openda is our only striker with very specific qualities, and we don’t have another player like him,” admitted Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca at a press conference. “Sulc has no physical issues; he’s fine. After the break, he only had one training session, so he was a bit tired in Lens, having played two days earlier. But he’s fine now.”
