Irma Testa challenges Roberto Vannacci to a fight: “I’d knock him out”

Boxing champion Irma Testa, a bronze medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, sent a message to Roberto Vannacci during an appearance on “Un Giorno da Pecora” on Rai Radio1: “How would I feel in the ring with the general, given his views on gay people? First of all, we’d have to see if the general would even have the guts to step into the ring and take a beating.”
“Would I challenge him? Just for fun, for training—even though the rules wouldn’t allow it. Could I knock him out? I think so, but I’d make him think he could win—I’d let him build up his confidence, and then, when he’s at the peak of his ability, when he really believes he can win, I’d knock him out,” continued the boxer from Campania, who competes in the lightweight division, with a touch of irony.
“Maybe I could knock him out with an uppercut to the liver, just to take the wind out of his sails a bit,” declared the Italian national team member, who accepted the challenge. “Shall we set up this match? I’d be happy to.”
Irma Testa also weighed in on which politician has the knockout punch: “Right now, I’d say Giorgia Meloni—she’s the most aggressive. Who throws the most low blows? I don’t know if we can say, because he’s no longer around… but Silvio Berlusconi gave me the impression he could throw blows below the belt—at least in the collective imagination of the somewhat unscrupulous boxer.”
