Milan: Ruben Amorim Explains Why Camarda Rarely Plays

After the win against Salzburg, Milan coach Ruben Amorim spoke about the team’s performance: “In other games, we’ve played better as a team. Tonight we played well, but in some situations, if they’d been more precise, they would have scored on us. We lost possession a few times in front of our box, and we had some issues with our build-up play: there’s work to be done.”

Cissé made the difference with three goals: “He deserves the playing time he’s getting for what he’s doing physically—he knows how to be explosive. He still has some areas to work on; he needs to do better in training as well. But tonight, huge congratulations to him—the hat trick is extraordinary. But, at the same time, he needs to keep working.”

Camarda finally played for an hour, after being left out at the start of the season: “He needs to improve his explosiveness, stride, and pace. We’re working on it. He has the ability to run for the full 90 minutes. We’re working on it. That’s something he lacked tonight as well, partly because he knows how to move in the box—he’s got a lot of skills.”

The victory gives the team some breathing room: “A cathartic win? Not for me. I know things are tough around the club. I chose the two toughest clubs I could have chosen in my last two stints. We’re at the start of the season. I want to continue my work to help my players and win games.”
