Scafati refuses to accept the decision and is appealing the massive fine: “Marco Ceron had the flu”

Longobardi Scafati Basket has taken note of the penalty imposed pursuant to Article 13, paragraph 4, of the DOA, considering it inconsistent with the actual sequence of events, and has announced that it has filed an appeal within the time limits set forth in the regulations.

“The failure to include athlete Marco Ceron on the game roster, despite the fact that he was traveling with the team, was due to a severe bout of the flu, accompanied by related symptoms, which resulted in a specific medical order prohibiting his participation. Due to this unforeseen and documented inability to play, the club’s General Manager, Antimo Lubrano, was therefore compelled to remove the athlete from the game roster,” the Campania-based club stated.

“Longobardi Scafati Basket is confident that, during the hearing scheduled at the appellate level, the objective circumstances that led to the decision will be adequately evaluated, so that the validity of its arguments is recognized and the imposed sanction can consequently be revoked.”

“The club reaffirms its confidence in the sports justice bodies, certain that every relevant piece of evidence will be carefully examined to ensure a fair assessment of the matter,” added Longobardi’s management.
