Cagliari: Fans Furious After Loss to Bologna: “Our luck has run out”

The loss to Bologna has sparked outrage among Cagliari fans, who are particularly disappointed by the team’s performance. Criticism of the Rossoblù is mounting on social media, with the team accused of being slow, predictable, and unable to create scoring opportunities. Coach Fabio Pisacane’s decisions, the new signings, and the management of the offense—which, according to many supporters, is not delivering the results they hoped for—are also coming under fire.
The fear shared by many fans is that the positive start to the season masked structural problems that have become more evident in recent games. “Guys, let’s start unfurling the parachute—the descent is beginning,” writes Elia Pitzalis, who urges fans to temper their expectations: “Did anyone really think that the 2026–27 Cagliari team was the same one from the first six matchdays? We have to be honest and admit that, during those matches, we were helped a lot by luck. Once that’s gone, it’s all over.”
Among the problems highlighted by the fans is, above all, a lack of offensive firepower. “Two games, six goals conceded, and two shots on goal,” observes Pitzalis, questioning the quality of the roster and the options available in attack and midfield. This assessment is shared by many other fans, who complain about the lack of creativity and the team’s difficulty in creating scoring chances.
The criticism directly targets Pisacane. Some fans are calling for a reevaluation of the coaching staff, while others point the finger at lineup decisions and substitutions. “The opposing goalkeeper didn’t make a single save; the team was always off the pace. I think we need to take a hard look at the coach,” writes Rosario Germani.
Damiano Marco Corda’s assessment is even harsher: “Another disaster today. No ideas, absolutely zero. The attack was nonexistent.” For Simone Curridori, the performance was characterized by players who were “slow, predictable, lacking in ideas, and unmotivated,” with very few individual initiatives and a team unable to change the pace.
Among the most discussed issues is the offense. Fabrizio Pili revisits the decisions made in the transfer market and the departures of Andrea Belotti, as well as Mutandwa and Borrelli. “This is a team that doesn’t know how to play offensively and lacks forwards,” he comments, arguing that the current difficulties are the result of choices that failed to adequately strengthen the roster.
Many fans are also calling for more playing time for Kevin Carlos and M’Bala Nzola, while others believe the team cannot rely entirely on Mendy, a young forward considered promising but still developing.
