Juventus is smiling again; Douglas Luiz was the best player on the field

Juventus bounces back after its recent poor results: Spalletti’s team defeated Lecce 2-0 thanks to an outstanding performance by Douglas Luiz (who scored a goal and provided an assist), marking their first away win in two months. Following the victory in this Serie A Matchday 8 fixture, the Bianconeri climb to 14 points in sixth place, while Lecce remains in twelfth place with 9 points.
After an even start, Juventus took control of the game and broke the deadlock in the 29th minute off a set piece: McKennie caught the Lecce defense off guard on a free kick taken by Douglas Luiz and beat Falcone to give the Bianconeri the lead. Di Francesco’s team lost their composure, and Kolo Muani and Koopmeiners came close to doubling the lead. The 2-0 lead came late in the first half when Douglas Luiz, in the 41st minute, fired a shot from outside the box past Falcone to score his first Serie A goal.
In the second half, Lecce tried to mount a comeback, but Juventus controlled possession and the game without forcing the issue. Spalletti made his first substitutions just past the hour mark, bringing on Cabal and Boga for Kolo Muani and Cambiaso.
Lecce was unable to get back into the game; whenever they managed a shot, Vicario was always alert. In the 78th minute, Woltemade tried to seal the win but was unsuccessful. Di Francesco brought on Stulic in stoppage time, but the score remained unchanged (Gaspar was sent off for a second yellow card), and Juventus came away with the win at the Via del Mare.
