F1 Austin Grand Prix: Kimi Dominates in Texas, but the Title Will Be Decided in Mexico: Antonelli Will Be Champion If…

Andrea Kimi Antonelli dominates in Austin but must postpone his world championship celebration: the Mercedes driver, after securing pole position, wins the United States Grand Prix in Texas, reaffirming his overwhelming superiority over the rest of the grid, both in terms of speed and tire management. The German team’s one-stop strategy proved successful, and Kimi was unbeatable for everyone.
The driver from Bologna finished ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who managed to edge out Red Bull champion Max Verstappen after a thrilling duel. Fourth place went to the other Ferrari, driven by Lewis Hamilton.
Next came Norris, Hadjar, Piastri, and Antonelli’s teammate, George Russell, whose eighth-place finish postponed the Emilian’s title win by one week. Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly also finished in the top 10.
In all likelihood, Kimi will be crowned world champion in Mexico: he’ll clinch the title if he finishes at least ninth, but even a tenth-place finish could be enough if Russell doesn’t win. Antonelli could even become champion if he retires: for him to clinch the title, neither George Russell nor Lewis Hamilton can win the race.
