Fabrizio Biasin vs. Sandro Sabatini: “Inter? As if!”

The come-from-behind victory against Fiorentina has not put an end to the debate over Inter’s attitude. In the Pressing studios, Fabrizio Biasin and Sandro Sabatini discussed the approach of Cristian Chivu’s team, with the Nerazzurri’s alleged arrogance at the center of the discussion.

Sabatini was the first to speak, urging listeners not to place too much weight on expected goals, preferring instead to base their assessment on what was seen on the field. “Expected goals don’t reflect reality; I judge with my own eyes. Inter had a number of shots on goal, but De Gea played his best game in the last two years,” the journalist argued, referring to the Fiorentina goalkeeper’s performance.

Sabatini then broadened the discussion to Inter’s struggles during matches, focusing on the Nerazzurri’s tendency to fall behind. “Do they always fall behind? In Bologna, we said the players were overconfident, and in the locker room, Chivu said more or less the same thing,” he stated, recalling what happened in the previous match against Bologna and the coach’s alleged instructions to the team.

This account, however, did not convince Biasin, who disputed the very interpretation regarding the players’ overconfidence. “But who said they’re overconfident? I’d like to hear Chivu confirm that to you,” the journalist replied, asking for direct confirmation from the Nerazzurri coach.

Biasin then pressed on the contradiction that, in his view, had emerged when evaluating the team’s performance from one week to the next. “But when ever? Arrogant against Bologna but not against Fiorentina?” he asked, questioning the idea that incidents in individual matches can automatically be attributed to an attitude problem.
