Virtus Bologna, Andrea Diana doesn’t trust his former team
Andrea Diana vs. her past
Virtus Segafredo Bologna prepares for Sunday’s trip to Germani Brescia’s parquet, with the goal of winning and confirming the top spot in the standings (currently shared with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano).
Andrea Diana presented the challenge against his former team (of which he was a deputy from 2011 to 2014 and head coach in the following five seasons) on the official channels of the Bologna club: “We have arrived 5 days from the end of the first half of the season and therefore every team plays to reach its goals,” said Sergio Scariolo’s deputy. “We meet Brescia, which is a hungry team and wants to get points for qualification for the Coppa Italia. They have included two very good players like Nikolic and Taylor who have already fit well into the team group as the victory on a difficult court like Ljubljana showed. They have a deep roster, Della Valle is their first point but also Massinburg and Gabriel in the last few games have grown considerably not only in points scored but also in the average three-point shot.”
“Brescia struggles a lot inside the area, it is third in offensive rebounds,” Diana added. “We will have to give all our energy by putting aggressiveness from a defensive standpoint against a team that is good at passing the ball and often attacks for all 24 seconds. It will be necessary to stay focused and take the opportunity to steal a ball or capture a rebound.”
