Varese, Brase’s deputy points to two favorites besides Olimpia and Virtus
Galbiati points to two other favorites for the scudetto
Pallacanestro Varese assistant coach Paolo Galbiati presented the challenge scheduled for Sunday against Ettore Messina’s Olimpia Milano. Matt Brase’s men are hoping to regain victory after the loss they suffered against Tortona, but it will be tough.
“Milan is a potentially devastating team: when they are full they will be unplayable for almost everyone and not only for us. But in 40 minutes we can try: we have limits against such a physical team but also so technical, they have not only size but also widespread talent. And now there is a lord playmaker like Napier who has given them order and confidence. But we also have our qualities, too, and we will try to impose them: facing an elusive team like Varese can be complicated, we will have to be good at making the most of our gifts,” explained the former Vanoli Cremona coach among others.
Then a look at the favorites for the Scudetto. Galbiati pointed out two other teams to keep an eye on besides the usual Olimpia Milano and Virtus Bologna: “The dry game makes certain challenges slightly less unplayable. Olimpia remains the team to beat, but Virtus Bologna and Tortona are also on another level. And watch out for Venice, which in the wake of the coaching change could have a major impact. Us? We want to have as much fun as possible.”
