Super Camila Giorgi: the Italian tennis player won the first edition of the tournament in Merida, Mexico, after a battle that lasted almost two and a half hours with Sweden’s Rebecca Peterson. 7-6 (7/3), 1-6, 6-2 was the final score.
It is the fourth career title for Camila Giorgi.
Born in Macerata on Dec. 30, 1991, Camila Giorgi is among the most highly regarded Italian tennis players. She began her professional career at only 14 years old and was the winner of the 2021 Canada Open. With that in Merida, Giorgi boasts 4 tournaments won out of 10 finals played.
